چکیده
Retrospective, single-center review between January 2010 and June 2020. We included 134 patients (93 male) with symptomatic ipsilateral carotid stenosis ischemic brain lesions assessed by diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) RAPID processing underwent endarterectomy (CEA). Patients who CEA within 48 hours of symptoms suffered a significantly higher rate postoperative stroke (emergent = 11%) compared 2 14 days (urgent 1.5%) after (elective 0%). Ischemic lesion volume less than 10 mL based on DW-MRI was an independent risk factor for stroke. Optimal timing is symptoms. more reliable threshold value to predict adverse neurological results in artery stenosis.

Carotid stenosis: factors affecting symptomatology.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The ability to predict future strokes in asymptomatic patients with carotid stenosis is currently limited. The management of symptomatic patients with <50% stenosis is also debatable. In this context, we performed the following open prospective study to identify factors affecting symptomatology in patients with carotid stenosis. METHODS During 1988-1997, 442 arteries wi...

متن کاملEvaluation of Factors affecting Surgical Outcome of Tympanoplasty
Introduction: Tympanoplasty is a standard procedure to repair tympanic membrane perforation. The aim of this study is to evaluate the results of tympanoplasty (hearing improvement and tympanic membrane closure rate) in patients suffering from chronic perforation of the tympanic membrane by considering the prognostic factors. Materials and Methods: In a prospective study, based on the results ...

Saving time to intervention is crucial in patients with symptomatic carotid artery stenosis (SCAS). We introduced a fast-track protocol (FTP). Time frames from the onset of symptoms to intervention before and after the introduction of an FTP were analyzed. SCAS patients (403 patients/405 procedures) were evaluated according to whether surgery was performed before (group 1) or after (group 2) th...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The optimal treatment of patients with symptomatic carotid stenosis who are poor surgical candidates is uncertain. The purposes of this study were to report the long-term outcome after angioplasty in a series of these patients and to compare these data with historical control data from the North American Symptomatic Carotid Endarterectomy Trial (NASCET). METHODS We iden...
